  • Preliminary Examination: May 26, 2025

  • Vacancies: 1,105 (Provisional)


Application Fee

  • General/OBC: ₹100
  • SC/ST/PwBD/Female Candidates: Exempted


Eligibility Criteria

  • Age Limit: 21-32 years (as of August 1, 2025). Age relaxation is available for reserved categories.
  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.

Preliminary Exam Syllabus


The Preliminary Examination consists of two papers:


1. Paper I: General Studies (GS)


  • Current events of national and international importance

  • History of India and the Indian National Movement

  • Indian and World Geography (Physical, Social, Economic)

  • Indian Polity and Governance (Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.)

  • Economic and Social Development (Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives)

  • Environmental Ecology, Biodiversity, and Climate Change (General Issues, not subject-specific)

  • General Science


2. Paper II: Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT)


  • Comprehension

  • Interpersonal skills, including communication skills

  • Logical reasoning and analytical ability

  • Decision-making and problem-solving

  • General mental ability

  • Basic numeracy (Class X level)

  • Data interpretation (Class X level)


Note: Paper II (CSAT) is qualifying in nature, and candidates must score at least 33% to qualify.
