The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has released the notification for the Combined Technical Services Examination (CTSE) 2025, aiming to fill 330 Interview Posts across various departments.

  • Online Application Start Date: May 13, 2025

  • Last Date to Apply: June 11, 2025 (11:59 PM)

  • Application Correction Window: June 15 to June 17, 2025

  • Examination Dates: July 20 to July 23, 2025

🧾 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on July 1, 2025):

  • Minimum Age: 21 years

  • Maximum Age: Varies by post and category. For certain categories, there is no maximum age limit.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Deputy Director (Legal): Bachelor’s Degree in Law with 15 years of legal experience.

  • Assistant Director (Statistical Analyst): Master’s Degree in Statistics / Mathematics / Economics with Statistics.

  • Manager (Mines): B.E. in Mining Engineering with 15 years of experience and a Manager Certificate.

  • Deputy Manager (Environment): Degree in Environmental Engineering / Civil Engineering with a Diploma in Environmental Engineering and 3 years of experience.

  • Assistant Manager (Mines): B.E. in Mining Engineering with a Mines Manager Certificate.

  • Assistant Manager (P&A): MBA / PG Diploma in Personnel Management / Labour Welfare / Industrial Relations.

  • Factory Manager (SKD/RKD): B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 5 years of experience.

  • Assistant General Manager (Projects – Infrastructure/Project Management): B.E. in Civil Engineering with 15 years of experience.

  • Assistant Secretary: Any Degree with a Diploma in Cooperative Management.

  • Scientist ‘C’ Grade: Master’s Degree in Chemistry / Environmental Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry.

  • Chief Sthapathi: Degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering with 15 years of experience in traditional architecture.

  • Regional Sthapathi: Degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering with 5 years of experience.

  • Assistant Manager (Projects): B.E. in Civil Engineering with 5 years of experience.

  • Assistant Director of Statistics: Master’s Degree in Statistics / Mathematics / Economics with Statistics.

  • English Reporter: Any Degree with dictation in English at 120 WPM and typing in English at 45 WPM.

  • Tamil Reporter: Any Degree with dictation in Tamil at 120 WPM and typing in Tamil at 45 WPM.

  • Assistant Director of Town & Country Planning: Master’s Degree in Town Planning or Civil Engineering.

  • Assistant Superintendent (Chemical Wing): M.Sc. in Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry / Associateship in Chemistry.

  • Assistant Director (Survey & Statistics): Master’s Degree in Statistics / Mathematics / Economics with Statistics.

  • Assistant Planner: Degree in Planning / Civil Engineering / Architecture.

  • Psychologist: Master’s Degree in Psychology.

  • Senior Accounts Officer: CA / ICWA.

  • Research Assistant: Master’s Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Statistics.

  • Sociologist: Master’s Degree in Sociology or Social Work.

  • Senior Entomologist: M.Sc. in Agricultural Entomology / Entomology / Zoology with specialization.

  • Assistant Director Training / Principal, ITI: B.E./B.Tech in relevant discipline with 5 years of experience.

  • Assistant Director (Technical): B.E./B.Tech in relevant discipline with 5 years of experience.

  • Veterinary Assistant Surgeon: B.V.Sc. Degree (Registered under Tamil Nadu State Veterinary Council).

  • Assistant Manager (Post Code 3616): CA / CMA / MBA (Finance).

  • Assistant Manager (Post Code 3665): Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / MBA / CA / ICWA / ACS.

Language Proficiency:

  • Adequate knowledge of Tamil is mandatory.

📚 Syllabus Overview

Paper I:

  • Part A: Tamil Eligibility Test (SSLC Standard) – 100 questions, 150 marks (qualifying in nature, minimum 60 marks required).

  • Part B: General Studies (Degree Standard) – 75 questions.

  • Part C: Aptitude and Mental Ability (SSLC Standard) – 25 questions.

  • Total for Part B & C: 150 marks. Duration: 3 hours.

Paper II:

  • Subject Paper (Degree/PG Degree/Diploma Standard, depending on the post) – 200 questions, 300 marks. Duration: 3 hours.

  • For Tamil Reporter and English Reporter, Paper II is 1.5 hours for 100 marks.

Note : The examination will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT).

📝 Selection Process

  1. Written Examination:

    • Candidates must appear for both Paper I and Paper II.

  2. Interview:

    • Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for an interview (60 marks).

  3. Final Selection:

    • Based on the total marks obtained in Part B and Part C of Paper I, Paper II, and the Interview, subject to the rule of reservation of appointments.

💰 Application Fee

  • One-Time Registration (OTR): ₹150 (valid for 5 years).

  • Examination Fee: ₹200.

Note : Certain categories are exempted from the examination fee as per TNPSC norms.
