Eligibility

  • Education: Class‑12 pass from a recognized board

  • Age: 18–27 years as of January 1, 2026 (DOB between Jan 2, 1999 and Jan 1, 2008). Category‑wise age relaxation applies 

  • Nationality: Indian citizens, or those eligible as per SSC norms (including subjects of Nepal, Bhutan, etc.) 

  • Physical Standards: Required for specific posts like DEO and PA/SA – refer official notification for details


Documents Needed for Application

Prepare the following before applying online:

  • Class 10 & 12 certificates

  • ID proof (Aadhaar, passport, etc.)

  • Scanned photograph & signature

  • Category/PH certificates (if applicable)

  • Valid mobile number and email address


How to Apply

  1. Visit https://sscsr.gov.in/, go to “Latest Notifications” and download CHSL PDF.

  2. Click “Apply Online” – OTR (One-Time Registration) process.

  3. Log in with basic info: Name, DOB, mobile, email, Aadhaar.

  4. Fill in educational and category details.

  5. Upload photo and signature.

  6. Pay fee (Rs.100 for General/OBC male; others exempt) via SBI/SBI branches, BHIM UPI, etc.

  7. Final submission and print confirmation. Correction window open July 23–24, 2025


Syllabus 

Tier‑1 (CBT – 200 marks, 60 mins):

  • General Intelligence & Reasoning – Analogies, series, classification, coding-decoding, puzzles

  • General Awareness – Current affairs, history, geography, polity, economy, science, awards, sports, books & authors

  • Quantitative Aptitude – Number systems, arithmetic (percentages, ratios, time & work, mensuration)

  • English Language – Grammar, comprehension, vocab, error spotting, phrases, sentence improvement

Tier‑2 (Descriptive – 100 marks):

Essay/letter writing (in English/Hindi) – 60 minutes 

Tier‑3 / Skill Test:

Typing test or data entry test (depending on post) – qualifying only.
